China: “It’s official. He’s your son.”

Finally! After more than 50 long days of waiting for a DHL truck to arrive, it’s here! Our social worker called us Thursday afternoon with the happy tidings that our final approval letter arrived from China.  This document is required to submit an application for Alexander’s US immigration. We hope that with a request for medical expedite thanks to our trusty medical consult, our paperwork will fly through the required US red tape. Keep the prayers flowing as we continue to jump through countless hoops in order to get our little man home.

An exciting direct result of our LOA, however, is that we can now communicate directly with Alexander’s foster home and associated social welfare institute. Though we could request information before this, we can now send packages. Additionally, we can share details and photographs of our son with you, because our agreement/signature on the LOA indicated that we have agreed to take custody of Alexander.

With no further ado, we are proud to introduce you to our son, Alexander Thomas Kelly

Alexander was born in and currently resides in Shanxi Province.  When we travel to China, we’ll fly to Beijing, then to Shanxi Province, and will finally end up in Guangzhou at the American Consulate.

Google maps says we have approximately 12,500 miles to go, which may include tolls and a ferry.
